SOLUTIONS FOR A GREENER MAURITIAN TEXTILE INDUSTRY

Eligibility

Open to all last 2 final years students of the University of Mauritius.

Students may compete individually or as part of a team of maximum 3 persons.

 

Registration and submission

Students participating must send a written expression of interest (EOI) to RT Knits, at latest by March 21st 2008 and addressed to the HR manager.

The EOI must be signed by the head of the team and the coordinates of all team members clearly indicated (student’s registration number, program of study, contact address, telephone and e-mail address).

There will be no extension or exception to registration deadline and submission deadline.

Late submissions would be disqualified.

 

Submission requirements

RT Knits will prefer studies related to its production process i.e. circular knitting, dyeing & finishing, garment design and manufacturing.

Submission should contain:

  • Definition of problems
  • Description of solution ideas
  • Applicability of solution ideas/technical constraints (if any)
  • Cost and return on investment analysis/study
  • Conclusion

Judging and evaluation

All judges’ decisions are final. Awards will be in the form of cash prizes.

Each participant will receive recognition and a certificate.

All submission will be judged by the same criteria.

Results will be announced on the 1st September 2008.

 

Intellectual property

RT Knits reserves the right to use contents of projects submitted and/or make amendments for practical applications to its manufacturing processes.
